(NASDAQ: CRAY) today announced that customers who purchase a Cray CX1™ deskside supercomputer can now personalize their systems with new storage features. Available immediately, Cray CX1 customers now have two more options in configuring their deskside supercomputers -- solid-state drives (SSDs) and large capacity, fixed-drive storage blades.

Case Study Reveals Cray CX1 System Increases Delivery of Complex Analyses at National Supercomputing Center for Energy and the Environment

SEATTLE, WA, Jun 24, 2009 -- Global supercomputer leader Cray Inc. (NASDAQ: CRAY) today announced that the National Supercomputing Center for Energy and the Environment (NSCEE) tested the Cray CX1™ deskside supercomputer running Microsoft Windows HPC Server 2008 and found the system is 46 percent faster in the delivery of complex analyses, resulting in greater researcher productivity. The results were reported in a newly released case study published by Cray and Microsoft's high performance computing (HPC) groups.

Japan's Railway Technical Research Institute Puts Two Cray Supercomputers Into Production

SEATTLE, WA, Jun 23, 2009 -- Global supercomputer leader Cray Inc. (NASDAQ: CRAY) today announced that the Railway Technical Research Institute (RTRI) in Japan has put a Cray XT4™ supercomputer and a Cray CX1™ deskside supercomputer into production. The order for these two Cray systems from this commercial customer was not previously announced. RTRI is currently using both of its Cray supercomputers to accelerate large-scale simulations that push the boundaries of innovation in railway technologies.

Korea Meteorological Administration Selects Cray to Negotiate Multi-Year Supercomputer Contract

SEATTLE, WA, Jun 09, 2009 -- Global supercomputer leader Cray Inc. (NASDAQ: CRAY) today announced that the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) has selected Cray as the preferred bidder for a multi-year contract to provide KMA with a next-generation supercomputer.

Contract negotiations are ongoing and an official announcement will be made once the contract has been completed, which is expected to occur in the coming months. The full scope, conditions, options and other contract terms are subject to the negotiation process. No assurance can be given that the negotiations will be completed successfully by Cray.
